About Towards Mindfulness

Mindfulness is not the cliche of sitting in a quiet room with a perfectly silent mind, legs crossed and hands in lotus position. It is developing the ability to bring your attention into the the present moment, without judgement, anywhere and anytime. This is a learned skill.

Acquiring this skill allows individuals of all walks of life to have greater control over managing stress, regulating emotions, acting with intention and improved focus, and developing a more positive outlook. These improvements bring with them the potential to transform many different aspects of a person’s life.

About Geoff

Geoff is a Mental Health Social Worker with many years’ experience in counselling and leading people in mindfulness practice. Geoff is also an experienced Mental Health First Aid Instructor.

Geoff is trained in Mindfulness-based Core Process Therapy (MbCPT), and has undertaken numerous training courses in mindfulness including Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) training, and meditation retreats. From 2016 to 2019 Geoff developed and ran online mindfulness training courses for university students. Geoff is currently a Level 1 Certified Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) Trainer and is currently completing Level 2 Certification for MBCT.

Geoff brings a wealth of personal and professional experience to mindfulness training, and a gentle humanity to the challenges and rewards that practicing mindfulness can bring. Geoff would love to welcome you to high quality evidence based mindfulness training.
